Carter Hart has been attempting to flee Canada, Hart was blocked by US Customs officers. He's urgently hired an immigration lawyer.

Carter Hart, the former Philadelphia Flyers goalie, is having a hard time towards a come back to professional hockey. Hart was supposed to move from Alberta to Tennessee to put all his attention into training, but his attempt to get to the United States was denied on the latest try.
This happened at a very critical time when he was trying to revive his career following time out of the net after the 2018 Team Canada scandal came to light.
Carter Hart is one of two players implicated in the current legal case who are attempting a comeback in the sport. Although other players indicted in the same case have been excused from non-essential court appearances due to professional commitments abroad, Hart, who is currently inactive, has requested similar leniency. In an affidavit, he requested to be excused from court attendance to fully dedicate himself to training, emphasizing that the ability to train properly affects his return to competitive form.
Carter Hart has hired an immigration attorney to help him relocate to Tennessee, where he plans on resuming his training, with hopes of restarting his hockey career. This is important considering the current problems he faces getting into the U.S.
While there's no guarantee that Hart will ever be allowed back in the NHL or any other professional league, he doesn't want to take any chances and needs to be in his best shape possible.
In August, Justice Bruce Thomas gave the players some leeway in the proceedings so they could conduct a semblance of normal life in the lead-up to the trial. Thomas allowed players to have their lawyers represent them at such hearings.
However, the judge made indications that all players, Hart included, should be available when the jury is sworn in for the trial in 2025.
