Celebrini, Michkov, McGroarty, Miroshnichenko, Cowan & more take part in NHLPA Rookie showcase

After another routine informal skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Wednesday, the Washington Capitals' veterans and up-and-comers cleared the ice quickly, making way for the NHL's rising young stars for the NHLPA Rookie Showcase.

There were 35 total prospects from several different NHL teams in attendance, including 2024 first-overall pick Macklin Celebrini, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Matvei Michkov and New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe.

Rempe was in high spirits as he took the ice at his rivals' rink while answering several questions about fighting and his hopes for the upcoming season.

Ivan Miroshnichenko, who skated with Washington earlier in the day, swapped out his practice gear for his full Capitals game uniform to take part in the showcase as D.C.'s representative.

Newest Pittsburgh Penguins forward Rutger McGroarty was also present at the showcase. Also in attendance were Will Smith, Lane Hutson, Dalibor Dvorsky, Cutter Gauthier and more.
