With the 2024 Paris summer Olympics well underway, NHL enthusiasts are already looking ahead to the Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina in 2026.

It was announced that NHL talent will be able to partake in the games in 2026, and we take an in depth look at which current Winnipeg Jets players should be representing their respective countries at the games.
(CANADA) Josh Morrissey - Mark Scheifele
Morrissey has already been projected to be on the team Canada roster by many hockey analysts and seems to be the obvious choice on the Jets roster. He's by far one of the best blue liners in the league, boasting the 9th most goals out of all NHL defenceman over the past 2 seasons.
Mark Scheifele is the wild card out of the two. He will need to have one of his best seasons yet to prove doubters he truly belongs on the national team. The 31 year old has proven to be a point per game player, but has seen a significant decline in performance the past 2 years, specifically on the defensive side of the puck.
(USA) Kyle Connor - Connor Hellebuyck
Connor will help lead the offence alongside stars like Auston Matthews and Jason Robertson. His 112 goals and 234 points in 226 games since the start of the 2021-22 season is the fifth and eighth-most of any American-born player, respectively.

Connor Hellebuyck is undoubtedly the most obvious choice on the Jets roster. After notching his second career Vezina Trophy, Hellebuyck is a shoe-in for the starting goaltender position for team USA.
(DENMARK) - Nikolaj Ehlers
Nikolaj Ehlers is by far the best product to emerge out of the small country of Denmark. Although Denmark must still qualify for the Olympics, Ehlers will likely captain the Danish side if they manage to get there. Ehlers is coming off a strong season, notching 61 points in 82 regular season games.
(SWITZERLAND) - Nino Niederreiter
Despite being an older 31 years old, Niederreiter has remained effective. He is coming off a decent 34-point campaign that had him finish sixth out of the nine current Swiss-born NHLers. If he can remain effective into 2026, he will surely make the Olympic roster, but possibly in a more limited role.
