Hockey insider Elliot Friedman has taken social media by storm with a major announcement regarding Columbus Blue Jackets Forward Patrik Laine.
Good news on Patrik Laine: he is cleared to return from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. Glad to see he is feeling better.
Laine is still recovering from shoulder surgery. As for his NHL future, teams interested in acquiring him were told they are free to contact Laine. So that's the next step before he and the Blue Jackets decide how to proceed.
Patrik Laine has been cleared from the NHLPA's players assistance program after being admitted in January of last season after reported mental health issues.
This comes as massive news as trade negotiations can now begin, and GM Don Waddell can now take the necessary measures to make a blockbuster trade with prospective NHL teams.
Among the front runners for the Finnish forward are the Washington Capitals, who seem to have expressed tons of interest in acquiring Laine the past few weeks.
