Johnny Gaudreau passes away in a tragic accident

The hockey world is in mourning as one of the most unthinkable accidents has taken place.

It's with the deepest sadness to report that Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau, has passed away at the age of 31. His brother Matthew has also passed away at the age of 29.
Per the New Jersey State Police, the brothers were struck and killed by a vehicle while riding bikes in Oldmans Township, Salem County, New Jersey on Thursday evening. The police reported that the driver of the vehicle did stay at the scene of the accident.
Known as "Johnny Hockey", Gaudreau was known to be one of the most prolific modern day hockey players of all time. Most notably known for his all-star years with the Calgary Flames, Gaudreau leaves behind an impressive NHL resume and a legacy fans will never forget.
The Gaudreau family was all together for the wedding of their sister Katie, who was supposed to get married today.
Rumors of his passing started just before 11 P.M. on X. THN Columbus reached out to the New Jersey State Police Public Information Office, but they would not confirm, nor deny anything.
