NHL Trade Rumor, a popular hockey site has announced the front runners interested in acquiring Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers.
The buzz surrounding Danish forward Nikolaj Ehlers has been electric throughout the course of the NHL offseason. Although a deal hasnt been solidified yet, Kevin Cheveldayoff can anticpate phone calls from these 3 teams:
Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres have had themselves a busy offseason, but they still have not added another top-six winger. They have been linked to Ehlers at times, and he would surely fix this issue if acquired.
The Carolina Hurricanes have lost multiple forwards this offseason and have been looking for top-six help because of it. Ehlers has been on their radar, and it would not be shocking if they made a bigger push for him when the season gets closer. He would be a clear fit in their top six and give them another star to work with.
Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken have had a busy offseason, but they might not be done yet. They still could use another top-six winger, especially with their scoring troubles last season. Because of this, they are a clear team to pay attention to in the Ehlers sweepstakes.
