Nazem Kadri is blowing up headlines today as the media is predicting a new trade target for the Winnipeg Jets.

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a stellar 110 point 2023-24 campaign. With so much promise heading into the postseason, the Jets ultimately fell short due to a lack of grit and tenacity.
The big question marks that lie ahead for the Jets pertain to the holes left by the departed Sean Monahan. Although Cole Perfetti has been deemed a suitable replacement for the 2C position, many are questioning his overall size and experience.
Ken Wiebe from the Free Press has found the missing piece to the puzzle for the Winnipeg Jets. Nazem Kadri is a proven NHL veteran with a Stanley Cup under his belt. If the Jets want any shot at getting over the first round hump, Kadri's services would be detrimental to their success.
Kadri is currently playing for the Calgary Flames. The former first round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Stanley Cup winner with the Colorado Avalanche is one of the most dependable two-way centers in the NHL. He's a two-time 30-goal scorer and four-time 20-goal scorer, and is coming off of a 75-point campaign in 2023-2024. Wiebe gave a few reasons why the veteran might make sense for the Jets.

The Jets could use another center behind Mark Scheifele if they want to replicate their 50-win season in 2024-2025. Kadri would be a bit of a risk at his age and contract remaining, but he would certainly provide an upgrade and more depth for a Jets team eager to contend again..
