As we enter a crucial part of the NHL offseason, the Winnipeg Jets need to start being proactive about Cole Perfetti.
It was announced recently that the Winnipeg Jets Simon Lundmark. As the signing continue to pour in for the organization, one final matter of business for GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is getting Cole Perfetti's contract done.
Perfetti did not opt to take his contract to salary arbitration, which means his only other two options would be for Perfetti to sign an offer sheet from another team that the Jets would have to meet or the Jets would have to trade Perfetti to another team.
One thing that is for sure is that the story is not yet finished and that news on Perfetti should appear sooner than later, as he is one of the last remaining restricted free agents to not have a new deal.
The Jets should have Perfetti signed within the coming weeks. Its unlikely he starts receiving qualifying offers from other teams as he seems to be committed to the Jets. Adjusting to another organization would be really unwise for the young forward so early in his career.
