Connor Hellebuyck has is eyes on the prize after yet another outstanding regular season performance.
Many Jets enthusiasts are wondering if this is the year Connor Hellebuyck gets a hat trick and secures his third Vezina trophy. Although another trophy would be a nice addition to his resume, next year also presents some interesting milestones for the veteran goalie.
Among active goaltenders, Hellebuyck sits 8th all-time for career wins, with a total of 275. Hellebuyck's career save percentage is .917%, which is well-above the league average. Hellebuyck is also on pace to become the American goalie with the most career wins all-time. Jonathan Quick (who remains active) sits at 393 wins, so Hellebuyck will need to need to continue at a 30-win rate for around 4 seasons to achieve this record.
All of this is to say that Hellebuyck deserves his respect as the current greatest Jets goalie of all-time. The big 300th career win should happen sometime around January or February 2025, all depending on how the Jets upcoming season unfolds.
The only thing missing in his career is a stanley cup. I dont think fans are too interested in seeing another Vezina trophy. Jets fans deserve a cup and Connor Hellebuyck could be the man that delivers it.
