Breaking news out of the NHL as Winnipeg native Seth Jarvis sings a monster eight-year, max extension worth north of $63 million.

Seth Jarvis has always known to be known to be one of the best players on the Carolina Hurricanes. Elite Prospects describes Jarvis as one of the best attackers in the game with a defender on his back; he seeks out pressure with gear-changes or stops-and-starts, then creatively pulls away with an arsenal of moves.
On Saturday morning, the Hurricanes announced the eight-year, $63.2 million contract, which will carry a $7.9 annual average value and a unique styled cap hit for the duration of the deal.

Re-signing Jarvis remained the last point of business for Carolina Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky. Jarvis has been a focal point for the league during the offseason as heavy trade rumours have been circulating, but Tulsky managed to ink Jarvis to an eight year extension.
The 22-year-old Jarvis had 33 goals and 67 points for the Canesd in 2023-24, which were both career-highs. He also tipped the scales with 34 assists, 13 power play goals, two shorthanded goals and nine game-winners. The Winnipeg product added another five goals and nine points in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
