Winnipeg Jets prospect has a shot a cracking the top 6

The NHL predictions have been buzzing all week long as the regular season is rapidly approaching.

Brad Lambert has emerged as the clear cut choice as the Jets top prospect. General manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has recently announced that he's looking for some of his young guns to make the jump this year, and Lambert arguably has the best opportunity to crack the squad. Although theres a good chance for him to make the team, is there more to the picture?

Quite possibly the most talked about potential battle, the discussion of who enters the season as the second-line center is going to extend far into camp and likely into the season as well. As it stands, it appears that the race for that spot is Vladislav Namestnikov's to lose, but don't be surprised to see a younger name push their way into the conversation.

That isn't to say Brad Lambert won't push Namestinikov in a battle for the spot, but he would have to have a training camp for the ages to get into the conversation. The likeliest scenario sees Lambert begin his campaign in the American Hockey League (AHL), but down the stretch, if the Jets need offence in the top six, don't be shocked to see him make an impact at the NHL level.

If Lambert manages to bring is "A-game" during the NHL preseason, who's to say he doesn't pose as a threat to take the 2C position? The realistic options are between Cole Perfetti and Vlad Namestinikov, but Brad Lambert has entered the conversation for top 6 consideration.
