The Winnipeg Jets could face uncertainties concerning forward Cole Perfetti very soon.

It was recently announced that the St. Louis Blues issued offer sheets to Edmonton Oilers Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. If the Blues pursuit of these two individuals falls through, it is rumoured that the Blues could be head hunting the next best thing, Cole Perfetti.
Cole Perfetti remains the last point of business for the Winnipeg Jets this NHL offseason. Currently a UFA, Jets enthusiast are starting to get nervous as Kevin Cheveldayoff has failed to pull the trigger on a contract extension. With that being said, if a deal fails to get inked within the next two weeks, there is a strong possibility the Blues could send an offer sheet Perfetti's way.
Having been unable to reach an agreement with the Jets on a new deal, the threat of an offer sheet is now that much more possible considering St. Louis' all-out attack on Edmonton. Where exactly Perfetti would fit dollar value wise on what will Iikely be a 'bridge' styled contract is still up for debate.

With no current contract, Perfetti remains the lone player left to sign a new deal for 2024-25 with Winnipeg. He is a prime candidate for an offer sheet, and is able to sign a such document with any NHL club. If that is the case, Winnipeg would also have seven full days to respond to the offer, or risk losing the player for what will likely be the remainder of his career.

Winnipeg only has about $5.78 million of free cap space left to work with, and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff must act quickly before losing his upper-hand.
