Brayden Yager, the newest member of the Winnipeg Jets could have an opportunity to showcase his ability at the 2C position next season.
Ken Wiebe, a prominent sports writer for the Winnipeg Jets recently conducted a Q&A which has sparked an interesting conversation regarding Yager's opportunities next season.

Wiebe: he's still going to need an excellent training camp in order to force his way into this discussion, given the aforementioned contenders. But Yager is someone who could do just that and earn himself an extended look, given the skill set he brings to the table and his ability to play a dependable two-way game to go along with his talent, vision and heavy shot.
It's important to remember that Perfetti was the 2C to start last season for a brief period of time before Namestnikov moved up from the fourth line and Perfetti slid over to the wing. Lambert is coming off an all-star season in the AHL and will also be given an opportunity to step into the role.
While I don't expect Yager to stick around the NHL beyond nine games this season, it wouldn't shock me to see him get a chance in that role before a final decision is made. Lambert is also determined to show the Jets he won't need any more seasoning after his impressive season with the Manitoba Moose. Namestnikov is the safe choice here, but I will go with Yager in the interim.
Wiebe suggests that Namestnikov is the safe option regarding the 2c position next season. Top prospect Brad Lambert has also been mentioend a candidate for the position as he had an impressive showing during the Jets summer development camp.
Although Wiebe reports that Yager's NHL stint will be relatively short this season, theres nothing out the realm of possibilities if he manages to produce offence at a good rate. Could Yager potentially be a threat for the 2C position next season? Only time will tell.
