The NHL network has come out with their NHL goaltender rankings, and Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is ranked second on the list.
The rankings have some NHL enthusiasts up in arms as many thought that the reigning Vezina winner should have been the clear cut choice for first place.
Hellebuyck took 31 of 32 first-place votes to win his second Vezina this year, while Demko and Bobrovsky, the other two finalists for the award, were farther down the list, at #6 and #7, respectively.
Although Hellebuyck didn't take the top spot for the best NHL goaltender heading into next season, second place is nothing to scoff at. If the Jets goaltender manages to notch a third Vezina while simultaneously going for a deep run in the playoffs, Hellebuyck should be a shoe-in for first place in 2025-26.
