Disgraced Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic is seeking a return to the NHL following a pending lawsuit filed by his wife.

The latest development pertaining to the Lucic situation is that his wife, Brittany Lucic, has filed a restraining order against him. This increased drama has had serious negative implications for his career and the Boston Bruins have announced they are no longer interested in moving forward in regards to a contract extension.
With that in mind, is there still hope left for Lucic? It has been reported that Lucic has entered the NHLPA's player assistance program in order to clean himself up. Perhaps after a successful stint in the players assistance program, a return to play could be accepted, but that decision comes down to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
Milan Lucic took an indefinite leave of absence from his team following the arrest and chose not to return to the ice. After his contract expired on June 30th, he became an unrestricted free agent but has yet to sign with any NHL team. As Lucic remains in the NHLPA Player Assistance program, his future in the league is uncertain, with Gary Bettman's approval being a significant hurdle. This could potentially mark the end of Milan Lucic's NHL career.

Frank Seravalli reports that Lucic has been spotted training in New Jersey, but as it stands, a return to the league will be very diffucult.
