Gary Bettman addresses the Winnipeg Jets media after being questioned about the return of the original 1.0 Jets history.

All the Jets historic achievements and player records like Dale Hawerchuck from 1980-1990 (1.0 era) now reside with the departed Arizona Coyotes, and fans are now demanding that the 1.0 history of the Jets be returned to their home in Winnipeg.
Similarly for the now defunct Coyotes team they've got Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Clayton Keller, Jeremy Roenick beside names like Thomas Steen, Paul Maclean, Teemu Selanne, Randy Carlyle and of course the aforementioned Dale Hawerchuk.

Alex Meruelo, former owner of the Arizona Coyotes has come out with news announcing that he is not interested in pursuing the re-activation of the franchise. So many fans are wondering, what happens now to all the old historic records? With the official death of the Coyotes franchise, the records should all be rightfully returned home to the Winnipeg Jets.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman was asked about this and the possibility of returning them to the Jets 2.0 according to Sportsnet's Eric Engels who tweeted this out: «Asked if it's possible original Winnipeg Jets history/records could be returned to the team, he called it an excellent question, but said it was too early to say.»
