Despite making some key additions and signings to the Jets squad, most of Kevin Cheveldayoff's good work has been overlooked surrounding the drama regarding Nikolaj Ehlers and Rutger McGroarty.
But all in all, the Jets faired decently well. Chevy managed to scoop up some prime talent between the pipes concerning Marc Comrie and Kaapo Kahkonen. The showdown regarding who gets the backup job for Connor Hellebuyk will be interesting to watch down the stretch.
The Jets also managed to safeguard some of their talent from last year by re-signing defenceman Dylan DeMelo and Colin Miller, while acquiring a new blue liner from Carolina in Dylan Coghlan.
The Jets also loaded up on AHL talent, signing a boatload of prospects who we will watch develop for the Manitoba Moose next season.
The tasks ahead for Kevin Cheveldayoff remains figuring out a solution for top prospect Rutger McGroarty while simultaneously finding a new trade destination for Nikolaj Ehlers.
