Hockey insider Bob Stauffer made a terrible mistake on his Oilers Now radio show, making false reports of Milan Lucic signing a PTO for the New Jersey Devils

Milan Lucic has been taking some heat this NHL offseason. He's been subject to being charged with domestic assault and has been admitted into the NHLPA's players assistance program.
The charges were later dropped after his wife chose not to testify, invoking marital privilege in court. At this time, it's unclear if Lucic, who is currently in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program, has been reinstated to return.

Milan was spotted last month in a New Jersey gym working out which has sparked rumours of a potential PTO with the Devils.
The New Jersey Devils had reportedly signed free agent forward Milan Lucic to a professional tryout contract according to Edmonton Oilers radio color commentator Bob Stauffer on 'Oilers Now'.

Lucic, who played three seasons with the Oilers from 2016-19, was reported to be signing a PTO deal with the Devils.

Although Bob Stauffer made claims about Lucic's PTO on his 630 CHED radio show, New Jersey Hockey Now reporter James Nichols denied Stauffer's reports, setting the story strait.
In order for Lucic to be signed to a PTO, Gary Bettman must first approve it. As it stands, Lucic remains in the players assistance program.
