Sources jumped the gun a little early regarding the acquisition of defenceman Dylan Coghlan from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Yesterday, it was thought that the trade was a done deal, but the exchange was actually solidified this morning.
Sources speculated the initial deal between the Hurricanes and the Jets was Dylan Coghlan in exchange for a 7th round draft pick, but the new trade deal describes a trade for "future considerations" rather than a 7th round pick.
Coghlan, 26, played a single NHL game last season but showed promise in the minors with 16 goals and 41 points for the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds.

Coghlan went undrafted and made his NHL debut in 2020-21 with the Vegas Golden Knights. He's managed 22 points in 106 career games.
