Yesterday, a trade went down between the Winnipeg Jets and the Pittsburgh Penguins that sent shockwaves down the NHL.

Winnipeg Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday for Brayden Yager.
McGroarty, who was selected with the No. 14 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft was considered the Jets' top forward prospects. The return is considerably similar to what they gave away as Yager was chosen by Pittsburgh with the No. 14 pick of the 2023 NHL Draft.
Recently, Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff spoke about his overall excitement in an interview, addressing what a skilled player like Yager means to the organization.
"We're very excited to add Brayden to the organization," Cheveldayoff said. "I think he's a very, very talented player (at) a very skilled position at centre where he can certainly make other players better around him.

"And that's kind of what we've watched and viewed throughout his draft year and obviously, in subsequent scouting situations after that. Obviously, you never know what comes up and just because you don't end up drafting a player, you don't stop keeping tabs on him."
