During a media availability post development camp, Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff took a shot at top prospect Rutger McGroarty.
«It says a lot about a player like Brad Lambert who doesn't have to come here but wants to come here and be a part of it and take on that leadership role."
Obvious praise for Lambert. And perhaps a dig at McGraorty.
Kevin Cheveldayoff makes an obvious comparison between his two prospects. Brad Lambert seems to now be the fan favourite in Jets Nation by showing initiative and clearly indicating he wants to be a part of the organization anyway he can.
Unlike Rutger McGroarty, who has has opted out of development camp and other important Winnipeg Jets events. Hockey insider Elliot Friedman reported that McGroarty requested a trade after being "unhappy" with the Jets and wants out.
