Despite the Winnipeg Jets not making any huge splashes during offseason, Kevin Cheveldayoff has put the Manitoba Moose right into "win now" mode.

Its not secret that the Winnipeg Jets have had a pretty underwhelming NHL off season so far. With only a few minor acquisitions to add to their NHL roster, theres something to be said about what Cheveldayoff has been able to achieve regarding their AHL farm affiliate.
The addition of players likely destined for the AHL is a win-win for both the Jets and the Moose. For the Jets, there's a high likelihood that either their internal talent or new additions could make an impact on the team as early as this season with the constant threat of injuries.

For the Moose, the depth gives them a solid shot at winning their first playoff series since returning to the Manitoba capital. A playoff run with some of the inexperienced players could go a long way in teaching them the grind of playoff hockey, something that would be an asset further down the line.

With other key additions like Dylan Coghlan and Haydn Fleury, the Manitoba Moose will be a formidable force in the AHL next season.
AHL enthusiasts should be on high alert concerning the Moose. Kevin Cheveldayoff deserves some praise as he has put the Moose into a prime position to take home the Calder Cup.
