Nikolaj Ehlers leads Denmark to victory in qualification games to earn spot in the upcoming winter Olympics.

Today saw the end of the 'final' round of the 2026 Olympic qualifiers for the Milano-Cortina games.
In a decisive Olympic qualifier at Gigantium Isarena, Denmark triumphed over Norway with a commanding 4-1 victory, securing their place in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Torino. The match, held before an enthusiastic crowd of 3,440 spectators, was filled with intense action, dramatic shifts in momentum, and standout performances that ultimately saw Denmark clinch their Olympic berth for the second consecutive time.
Denmark's victory over Norway was a testament to their resilience and ability to capitalize on key opportunities. After a rocky start, they managed to turn the game around with strategic plays and solid teamwork. This win not only secured their spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics but also highlighted their growing prowess on the international stage. For Norway, despite their strong start, the loss marks the end of their Olympic qualification hopes, as they were unable to maintain their early momentum against a determined Danish side.
Ehlers couldn't join his compatriots in Beijing in 2022 despite helping them through qualification. Now, he's close to achieving a lifelong dream.
"It hasn't quite seeped in yet," he said after the game. "To get to do this with these guys, that's the reason why I love coming home."
Denmark will now look ahead to Torino 2026, carrying the confidence of this hard-fought victory into the Olympic competition.
