Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel took to the stand following the wrap up of his coaching summit last week.

The coaching summit was a week long event entailing strategic meetings and presentations comprising both the Jets and Moose coaching staff.
During a media availability, Scott Arniel took some time to speak on UFA Cole Perfetti and the opportunities that lie ahead for the young forward.
«An opportunity to play a big role with us,» the head coach said. «People have left our roster, and he's going to get an opportunity to continue. And he's got to continue to earn that chance and he knows that."

«He's excited. I know he's training hard. He really wants to come in and (take advantage). He's pretty focused. From the day he left here, he's been training like crazy, and he's excited about the chance we are going to be giving him.» Arniel said

Cole Perfetti unavailable during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Colorado Avalanche, and Arniell addressed those concerns as well.
«I thought last year he did a fantastic job,» Arniel said. «Yeah, he didn't play in the playoffs last year. That was a tough pill to swallow, and we talked about it. But these are all learning steps for him.»

Scott Billeck, a prominent sports writer for the Winnipeg Jets reports that communication between Arniel and Perfetti has been positive, which could potentially lead to Perfetti signing with the club long-term.
