The buzz surrounding Winnipeg Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty has been electric all offseason long.
Its no secret that the Winnipeg Jets disgruntled top propsect made it clear he was no longer interested in perusing a future with the Jets organization. The headlines became massive after hockey insider Elliot Friedman announced on his 32 thoughts podcast that Rutger was "unhappy" with the organization.
Rumours of a trade regarding the Jets top top prospect have somewhat fizzled off the past few weeks. With that being said, some Jets enthusiasts are wondering if the potential is there for Rutger to salvage his relationship with the Jets.
But I can't stop thinking about whether McGroarty is getting the right advice from those around him. There's a genuine opportunity in Winnipeg. And, as I wrote earlier this week, Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff would welcome him back like a prodigal son. The city, too, I believe.
If Rutger McGroarty were to suddenly change his mind about the Jets and decide to stay, the Jets media believes that fans should give him a second chance.
