In a word, no. I get that he's a right-shot defenceman and gets bonus points for being a local lad from Brandon, but the Jets don't need another undersized blue-liner.
He doesn't offer much offensively or defensively, and his best season, points-wise, was heavily skewed by two-thirds of his points coming on the power play. Addison had one good season on the PP. Since then, his role diminished as the Wild looked elsewhere, and he was shipped to the San Jose Sharks early last season in a three-team deal to get former Jets blue-liner
Zach Bogosian. The Wild were looking to get better defensively. Addison wasn't the guy.
The Jets need to improve defensively after losing Dillon to free agency and
Nate Schmidt to a buyout.
And the biggest deterrent? There's simply no room for another sixth/seventh defenceman.
