As no key additions were made during the offseason for the Winnipeg Jets, all eyes are on forward Alex Iafallo to be the "driver" of his line.

Alex Iafallo is one of those Jets players that quietly flies under the radar. Even when fans talk about the blockbuster Pierre Luc-Dubois trade that occured, Iafallo's name seldom comes up.
With that being said, its time for Alex Iafallo to start making some noise. As previously mentioned, Kevin Cheveldayoff was comfortably reclined in his Muskoka chair during the NHL offseason and made zero acquisitions to help bolster the Jets bottom 6. All eyes will be on Alex Iafallo to prove to the organization that he's ready to be the driver of the 4th line.
Although Iafallo's 27 point season in 2023-24 was his lowest since his rookie season, I expect Iafallo to increase that total in 2024-25. Just like Vilardi, Iafallo was just getting adjusted to his new team in 2023-24, and now that it's his 2nd year with the team, he'll be fully ready for the upcoming season.

Taking a look at the Jets projected forward lines for this upcoming season, Iafallo is slotted in at the 4th line right wing spot. Iafallo appears to have enough scoring ability to be on a 3rd line, but the Jets 3rd line from last season had too much good chemisty going between them to be split up. That being said, if Iafallo does remain in this projected 4th line wing role, he'll have to be the one leading the production for that line.

The lads over at Jets Nation are predicting that this will be a breakout year for the veteran 31 year old. Iafallo is projected to notch over 15 goals and 20+ assists during the regular season.
Alex Iafallo is heading into the last year of his contract and will be looking to have his most impactful season yet. If he has another quiet campaign, Iafallo runs the risk of losing long-term signing consideration next offseason.
