Breaking news out of Columbus Ohio as they have hired Todd McLellan as their new head coach.

McLellan is set to be the new bench boss for the Blue Jackets next season and is poised to turn things around for the team. McLellan is coming off a disappointing campaign with the Los Angeles Kings where he was relieved of his coaching duties due to the teams inconsistencies.
McLellan, 56, is a veteran head coach in the league and has had some respectable NHL seasons under his belt. Since his emergence in the league in 2008, McLellan has coached three different teams including the San Jose Sharks, the Edmonton Oilers, and the Los Angeles Kings.
McLellan has a career .581 win percentage over 1100 NHL regular season contests coached. And say what you will about his consistency at having successful teams, seven times in his career his team had a .600 winning percentage or better. Cumulatively, that is a lot of success.

McLellan posts a 598-412-134 winning record as an NHL head coach and takes on a tough job in Columbus. Last year the Columbus Blue Jackets were bottom feeders in the league, ranked 29th overall in the NHL posting a 27-43-12 record.
