Although the start of the NHL regular season is still a few months away, it gives Jets enthusiasts the time to breakdown their starting roster.

A big question mark that has stood out in Jets Nation is wether or not forward Gabriel Vilardi is a true starter. Daily Faceoff came out with the projected first line and has Kyle Connor - Mark Scheifele - Gabriel Vilardi all on the 1st line together.
When Vilardi was healthy, the trio played together for nearly 196 minutes, according to Money Puck's line analytics. When Vilardi was out for 35 games, Connor and Scheifele also spent ice time with wingers Nikolaj Ehlers and Alex Iafallo, who they played 207 and nearly 300 minutes with respectively.

With that being said, Vilardi is an effective player who has amassed as a secret weapon for the Winnipeg Jets. All the way up until April, the Jets were an astounding 14-0-1 when Vilardi managed to score a goal.
Theres not denying the chemistry Vilardi has been able to generate with Scheifele and Connor, and when the trio are together, they look dangerous.
Its safe to say that Gabriel is well deserving of a spot on the Jets first line. If he can manage to stay healthy (which has been a problem for him) the Jets are certainly poised to have a starting trio come regular season time.
