The Winnipeg Jets coaching summit has just wrapped up, and newly appointed head coach Scott Arniel has a great feeling heading into next season.
Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel has a different vision for this Jets organization heading into the highly anticipated 2024-25 NHL regular season. The past few weeks, Arniel put together a "summit" which comprised of all the Jets and Moose coaching staff.
«I came out of the last week, after watching their presentations, after listening to them talk, their experiences, whether as players, a team, how they go about their daily business, and I feel so, so confident in this whole group,» Arniel said Friday.
The Summit entailed days of presentations and full tilt discussions regarding the teams approach to a successful campaign next season.
«We covered a lot of topics, and I really liked their participation and the messages that came out of all of those,» Arniel said. «I feel great about those two guys coming in, and what (assistant coach Marty Johnston) and the role he's going to play again with (goaltending coach Wade Flaherty),» Arniel said.
The most noteworthy strategy that emerged from the coaching summit concerned the Jets utilizing a more statistical based approach to their coaching. Arniel has expressed a huge interest in utilizing analytics in his strategy which was sparked during his tenure as Alain Vigneault's right-hand man with the New York Rangers.
It would appear that the Winnipeg Jets coaching summit has been a massive success. With new implemented strategies heading into next season, Arniel feels "so confident" in this group as a whole.
