As the drama intensifies regarding Winnipeg Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty, general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff finds himself in a really tough position.

Recently, a confusing trade headline has hit the media between the Winnipeg Jets and the Montreal Canadiens. Sources confirmed that the Habs made an offer to the Jets for McGroarty in exchange for Filip Mesar, but things got extremely complicated.
The deal seemed to be set in stone, but rumours have circulated about McGroarty and his camp making ridiculous demands to the Canadiens. Some of the requests entailed a specific amount of playing time, and a solidified spot on their power play.
Apparently, it's getting around to NHL clubs that McGroarty has unrealistic expectations for any team he goes to and clubs are backing away from trade talks.

This "prima donna" type behaviour displayed by McGroarty are causing Jets fans to grow weary of him. In addition to his childish attempts to call the shots, fans are beginning to wonder if the top prospect is even tradable at this point.
NHL teams are starting to catch wind of McGroarty's unrealistic demands, causing multiple GM's to stay clear of the disgruntled prospect. If this behaviour persists, the Jets wont be able to trade McGroarty as other teams straight up wont want him.
