The Jets make an incredible late round selection in the 2024 NHL draft.

Kieron Walton, a towering 6'6" Canadian centre from the OHL's Sudbury Wolves was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 6th round 187th overall.
Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff is being praised for this selection as Walton was actually predicted to be selected 76th overall, but was ultimately passed on until the Jets scooped him up late in the draft.
In his first OHL season with the Wolves, he recorded eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 46 games. He took a sizeable leap in his second season and saw his point total jump up to 43 with 18 goals and 25 assists in 65 games.

Elite prospects describes Walton has a big presence on the ice who possesses elite passing abilities and play making skills. Wether he's dangling through defenders or making tough passes, he uses his full frame and stick reach to make difficult plays happen.
It is a great selection overall by the Jets organization. Kieron Walton may prove to be the dark horse in the 2024 NHL draft and has been rated one of the best steals of his class.
