The Winnipeg Jets make history during the 2024 NHL by drafting Chinese born player Kevin He.

Kevin He is now the highest draft pick coming from a player of Chinese origin. The 18 year old was selected 109th overall in the fourth round in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Beijing-born player was drafted from the OHL's Niagara Ice Dogs and is poised to make an impact for the Jets organization heading into training camp ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
This is a great selection in general as it promotes inclusivity and diversity into the game of hockey. Kevin He achieves a truly distinguished honour by being the top ranked Chinese player to ever emerge into the NHL.
"He's played on some tough teams in the Ontario Hockey League, which makes me think that, again, his character, the way he works, the way he competes is probably off the charts," Woo said. "The more I read about Kevin the more I just think that he's got so many good traits." Commented Woo, a former WHL and Manitoba bisons player.

Kevin He notched 31 goals and 22 assists through 64 regular season games with the Niagara Ice Dogs and was a -13 rating on the ice.
