Kevin Cheveldayoff suggests more big moves are coming soon

As day one of free agency concludes, its safe to say the Winnipeg Jets results were quite underwhelming.

Although it wasn't all bad, the Jets were able to lock down two goaltenders in Eric Comrie and Kaapo Kahkonen, as well as the re-signing of defenceman Colin Miller.
Despite the Jets disappointment after the frantic first day of free agency around the NHL, Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff had some words during his media availability that could suggest more big moves are on the horizon as his phone was blowing up. Here's what he had to say:
«We've got a few things on the go,» Cheveldayoff told reporters. «Obviously, I took some time to come here. My phone's been buzzing a few times in my pocket since I got here, so there's going to be moving parts from now until training camp and beyond.»
It's clear that the "moving parts" signifies that GM Cheveldayoff could be working up something big. Historically, we have seen many successful teams take more of a cautious stance during day one of free agency. Let's see what the coming weeks bring in Jets nation...
