Breaking News out of Los Angeles as the Kings have announced they have re-signed forward Quinton Byfield.

Kings have signed forward Quinton Byfield to a five-year contract extension worth an average annual value (AAV) of $6,250,000 through the 2028-29 season.

Quinton Byfield has a solid season for the Kings. Although the team faced some turmoil mid year firing former head coach Todd McLellan, Byfield was a key part of their resurgence heading into the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Through the 2023-2024 regular season, Byfield notched 20 goals and totalled 55 points through 82 games. His offensive production was consistent as he emerged into a regular top 6 forward on the Kings.
For now, it's exciting to lock in a key piece of the future for the next five seasons. With several high-profile restricted free agents around the NHL still unsigned, it's nice for the Kings and Byfield to get their business done early, if for no other reason than peace of mind.
