Breaking news out of Winnipeg as the Jets announce they have signed defenceman Ville Heinola.
The reported contract is a 2 year deal worth $1.6 million dollars AAV per season.
Heinola, 23, was a first-round pick for the Jets in 2019, going 20th overall. However, in his five professional seasons, the defenceman has dealt with injuries, including a fractured ankle suffered in the pre-season that kept him out for the start of the 2023-24 campaign.
This comes as very welcomed news in Jets Nation as GM Kevin Cheveldayoff made it clear that signing the young defenceman was a top priority for the team.
The Jets are taking a massive gamble on Heinola. He's definitely going to be one of the Jets prospects expected to have an impact this upcoming season.
