According to a recent Twitter/X post, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine will be staying the the NHL's player assistance program.

Laine, 26, entered the NHL assistance program in January of 2024 after openly admitting he had been dealing with mental health issues.
"I wanted to take a moment to address my need to step away from the game for a while," Laine said Sunday in a post on Instagram. "After careful consideration and discussions with my support network and the team,

I have recognized the importance of prioritizing my mental health and well-being. Hockey has been my passion and my life, but I have come to realize that in order to perform at my best, I need to take this time to focus on myself.
The Twitter/X post suggests that Patrik Laine is "milking" the process and his best chance to kickstart his career is to drop out and find a new team.
Although, the post is inaccurate because it ultimately comes down to the leagues decision regarding when a player is stable enough to return to the ice.
Regardless, it looks like Patrik Laine will be staying in the players assistance program for the foreseeable future and the Winnipeg Jets organization wishes him all the best.
