With the debut of the highly anticipated NHL season right around the corner, its prediction time here at Jets Latest.

Vladislav Namestnikov is one of the players who poses as a serious offensive threat, but hasn't been quite able to find his ceiling yet. He spent the better portion of the 2023-24 regular season as the Jets 2C, but found himself swiftly demoted upon the arrival of Sean Monahan.
The Russian-born player had one of his best seasons in years, reaching 37 points – the second highest total of his career. That being said, his faceoff percentage is not great, coming in at 36.8% last season and 42.2% in his career.

With that in mind, two things give him an advantage over Perfetti and Lambert: his reliability and NHL experience. Namestnikov can play any forward position without missing a beat, and he's known for making his teammates better, which makes him a quality choice. Besides that, he has 10 years of NHL experience, which Perfetti and Lambert both lack.

Although it is predicted that Namestnikov will start the 2024-25 season as 2C, fans can anticipate a shift at some point. Cole Perfetti is another highly talented Jets forward of poses a threat for taking the true second line center position.
Ultimately, it will all come down to personal performance during the early stages of the season, and newly appointed head coach Scott Arniel will make the adjustments as he sees fit.
