As the frantic first day of free agency concludes, one surprising name stands out as a huge potential opportunity for Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

Daniel Sprong, 27, is currently a UFA and is looking for a new home. Among the available un-signed UFA's Daniel Sprong is arguably the most underrated and most talented.
Two years ago, Daniel Sprong had to wait until Oct. 3 before signing a one-year, league-minimum deal with the Seattle Kraken. After putting up 21 goals and 46 points in 2022-23, he got $2 million from Detroit on July 1, 2023. And despite another decent 43-point campaign, Sprong is now back on the market again.
Daniel Sprong would be a huge asset to the Jets depth as he brings ample experience and skill to his game.
Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has been extremely cautious the past few days, but the opportunity to add a player like Daniel Sprong presents extreme value and shouldn't be overlooked.
