The Winnipeg Jets selected Alfons Freij 37th overall today in the 2024 NHL draft.

With that in mind, the big question comes down to who Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff could have selected instead with this important draft pick?
Sources are speculating that the 37th overall pick should have gone to Andrew Basha, a left winger representing the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL.
The Calgary born forward is 6'0′, 187 lbs, shoots left handed, and is described by scouts as a energetic two-way forward and playmaker
The league is still in shock that Basha was not selected by the Jets. Andrew Basha poses as an elite offensive threat who possesses great skating ability and play making skills. He could have very well been an absolute steal at 37th overall the Winnipeg Jets could have scooped.
The Calgary Flames ultimately selected him 41st overall and will be returning to his hometown to develop as a Flame.
In 63 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers this season, Basha posted 85 points (30-55-85). One of the Jets needs this draft is a winger, so Basha could be a great pick if he's available at 37.
