Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has been praised by the media for his recent blockbuster trade.

Scott Billeck, a prominent sports writer for the Winnipeg Jets is applauding Kevin Cheveldayoff for working his magic, sending Rutger McGroarty packing for a nice exchange.
You have to hand it to #NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff:

He gets back into a corner and still manages to trade a disgruntled player for, arguably, a better one with more upside at a more desirable position. Already signed. Drafted in the same spot. Solid work. Billeck said

Cheveldayoff has at least broken even, at least on paper. As with any trade, the final verdict is years away. But Winnipeg Jets fans can take a deep sigh of relief knowing they have an extremely talented prospect heading their direction.
Yager, 19, says he's added five to seven pounds to his 6-foot-0 frame this summer, putting him at at least 175. A centre, he posted 35 goals and 95 points in 57 games while helping Moose Jaw win the Western Hockey League title and advance to the Memorial Cup last season.
