The latest speculation to emerge out of the NHL involves a new overtime rule being adopted from the KHL.

The 3v3 NHL overtime is arguably one of the most thrilling aspects of modern day hockey. Although its electrifying to watch, the format has been scrutinized as of late due to unfair puck possession advantages.
The KHL is testing a new rule in its Junior Hockey League (MHL) that penalizes teams for excessive puck possession in the defensive zone during overtime. Under this rule, if a team skates the puck out of the offensive zone and into its own, it receives a warning for the first violation.
A second violation results in a minor penalty. The aim is to prevent teams from stalling and to encourage more offensive play.
If successful, this rule could revolutionize overtime strategies in North America. The NHL may consider similar changes if the KHL's implementation proves effective.

This new rule adopted from the KHL will prevent players from skating the puck back into their zone to kill time or reset line changes.
What do you think of this new KHL rule? Should the NHL adopt the same rule in order to improve their overtime? Have your say in the Jets Latest poll.
