With the highly anticipated 2024-25 regular season rapidly approaching, all eyes are currently on Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi.
Vilardi is one of those players who just seems to fit perfectly within the Jets structure. Since being acquired from the LA Kings, Vilardi has emerged as a fan favourite in Jets Nation.
Vilardi is currently projected to play on the wing of the Jets top forward line with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele. Last season, injuries limited Vilardi to only 47 games, but he still managed 36 points, 5 shy of his career best.
The boys over at Jets Nation are predicting Vilardi to have his best season yet. If he can manage to stay healthy for 82 regular season games, Vilardi is expected to breach the 60+ point mark.
Gabriel Vilardi is one of many Jets players on the roster heading into the final year of their contracts. With that in mind, one of the big question marks regarding Vilardi is wether the Jets should re-sign him or not.
If he manages to fight off injuries while simultaneously increasing his point production, GM Cheveldayoff will need to form a strategy in order to keep Vilardi long term. He's only 25, so its safe to say his best years are yet to come.
