Huge development has emerged from Nashville regarding their top goalie prospect Yaroslav Askorov.

Yaroslav Askarov, the Nashville Predators' top goalie prospect, has informed the organization that he will not report to their AHL affiliate and has requested a trade.

It seems that Yarolsav Askarov is seeking a big opportunity elsewhere and wants to prove to the NHL he's a capable first string goaltender. This is starting to become a trend this offseason regarding top prospects refusing to pay their dues in the AHL.
This news follows the Nashville Predators' decision to secure Juuse Saros with a long-term contract, which has likely limited Askarov's path to becoming the team's starting goaltender.

At 22, the former first-round pick seeks an opportunity elsewhere to take on a more prominent role. Yaroslav Askarov's request signals that a potential trade could be on the horizon.
Winnipeg Jets enthusiasts are well versed with this type of situation regarding their top prospect Rutger McGroarty. We could potentially be witnessing another "prima donna" type of player who seems to believe their talents far surpass the AHL level.
