As the window for signing elite UFA's has now closed, the Winnipeg Jets now look internally to Cole Perfetti.
Cole Perfetti is a Jets forward who poses lots of offensive potential for the team. His game is somewhat known to be inconsistent and has been prone to being benched in the 3rd period of crucial games.
With that being said, the Jets are at a crossroad with Perfetti and Kevin Cheveldayoff needs to start thinking about how he should handle his situation. What will Perfetti's contract be worth this offseason?
Murat Ates, a Jets insider at the Athletic had this to say about Cole Perfetti:
I've spent the offseason feeling certain that Perfetti and the Jets were heading toward a two-year bridge contract. He's scored 75 points in 140 games, If Perfetti gets the same percentage of the cap that Vilardi did, then his AAV would come in at $3.625 million.
With the Jets missing out on the chance to sign elite UFA's during free agency, it presents a great opportunity to sign Perfetti to a bridge deal which would solidify him as a Winnipeg Jet.
