Although the Winnipeg Jets suffered a disappointing 1st round exit from the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs, a heartfelt story emerged from the heartbreak.
Reports from Global News indicate that the the Winnipeg Jets whiteout parties raised over $100k dollars for community organizations in the city of Winnipeg.
They may have been booted in the first round of the playoffs, but the Winnipeg Jets — with an assist from United Way Winnipeg — are sharing a combined $100,000 with four local community organizations, thanks to the success of the traditional whiteout parties during home playoff games.
True North Sports + Entertainment also announced they will be adding an increased $25k dollar donation to organizations tackling homelessness, addictions and hunger.
Maybe partying has its perks after all... The city of Winnipeg should be proud of their contributions despite their first round exit from the playoffs.
