As we enter a slow point in the NHL offseason, Jets Latest breaks open the archives to recount some of the iconic moments in Jets 2.0 history.

I think everyone will remember this classic story of when former Jets captain Blake Wheeler sustained one of the most gruesome injuries ever reported in sports.
During a matchup vs the Nashville Predators, Blake Wheeler had one of his family jewels explode in a very unfortunate way.
Wheeler was injured on a shot by teammate Josh Morrissey during the second period of the game, and while he did briefly head down the tunnel, the Jets veteran played the entire third period. Every crazier? Wheeler finished the game, playing more than 18 minutes in the 2-1 Jets victory.
According to Ates, the ailment wasn't even diagnosed until the following day and was initially described vaguely as a groin injury. While the impact surely couldn't have felt great, Wheeler was seemingly unaware of the full extent of the injury.

Although Wheeler is no longer a member of the Winnipeg Jets, I think fans can appreciate the ultimate sacrifice the former captain went through. Despite Blake Wheeler mentioning he wasn't having anymore children, hopefully his injury has healed up nicely.
