Breaking news out of Winnipeg as the Jets announce they have acquired goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen from the New Jersey Devils.

The deal is a pretty simple one, its a one year contract worth $1 million AAV per season.
Many Jets fans were up in arms today as the acquisition of Mike Comrie seemed to be the true replacement for Laurent Brossoit, but general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff shocked Jets nation with this one.
Kahkonen split last season between the San Jose Sharks and New Jersey Devils, putting up a 3.64 goals-against average and .898 save percentage in 37 games.

Kahkonen has a 3.33 GAA and .899 save percentage in 139 career games with Minnesota, San Jose and New Jersey.

Although the Jets have a promising prospect in Thomas Milic, the Jets seem to be loading up with talent between the pipes. It will be interesting to see who gets the backup goaltending position ahead of next season.
