Breaking news out of Winnipeg as the San Jose Sharks have acquired Jets forward Tyler Toffoli.

Toffoli and the Sharks have agreed to terms, therefore, hockey enthusiasts will continue to see the NHL veteran stay in the league for the foreseeable future. Tyler Toffoli has signed a 4 year, $6M AAV contract with the San Jose Sharks.
Toffoli, who just turned 32 in April, is coming off a year in which he scored 33 goals in 79 games split between the New Jersey Devils and Winnipeg Jets. Before that, Toffoli led the 2022-23 Calgary Flames in scoring over a full slate of 82 games, setting career highs in goals (34) and points (73).
This comes as unwelcome news for the Jets organization who have seen three talented players walk away from the team today.
Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is navigating through a tight salary cap, and the prospect of keeping a talented player like Toffoli seemed unlikely. Only time will tell what Cheveldayoff has up his sleeve to replace the talent lost today.
