The Winnipeg Jets made some key acquisitions between the pipes as they have signed both Eric Comrie and Kaapo Kahkonen.

After the dreaded departure of their former backup net minder Laurent Brossoit, a prime opportunity has now presented itself for these two goaltenders to solidify their role in the Jets organization.
Comrie's best season — the one that allowed him to parlay his performance into the two-year deal with Buffalo at $1.8 million per season — was in 2021-22 with the Jets, when he provided solid backup services and posted a 10-5-1 record, 2.58 GAA, .920 SV% and one shutout in 16 starts and 19 appearances.

On the other hand, Kaapo Kahkonen is the more experienced of the two goaltenders despite being two years younger. Historically, he has posted better numbers than Eric Comrie and could prove to be the more safe bet as Hellebuyk's backup.
His best campaign was in 2021-22, split between the Wild and Sharks, when he had a 14-14-4 record with a .912 SV% and 2.87 GAA.

It will be interesting to see how the battle shakes out between these two new acquisitions. All Jets fans are rooting for their success, but ultimately only one man can be the true backup for Vezina trophy winner Connor Hellebuyk.
